The three main objectives of Equitable Energy aim to address the environmental and social problems caused by the lack of electricity in Cameroon and Africa, where many people rely on makeshift solutions such as generators and kerosene lamps, despite the harm they cause.
Reducing pollution from generators:Equitable Energy aims to reduce pollution caused by generators. These devices emit harmful gases and create significant noise pollution. They can be effectively replaced by reliable solar solutions, such as mini-grids, which are both cleaner and quieter.
Eliminating the use of petroleum lamps:In line with this, Equitable Energy encourages the utilization of durable and eco-friendly solar lamps in place of petroleum lamps. Petroleum lamps not only pose health hazards with their toxic emissions but are also less cost-effective and efficient compared to solar lighting solutions.
Funding awareness campaigns:The revenue from the sale of Equitable Energy's products helps fund CECOSDA's awareness activities, which educate communities about the benefits of renewable energy and the dangers of using polluting energy sources, as well as promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly energy practices.
